"Both Shah Rukh and Aamir have taught me a lot. I used to be their fan. I had seen all their movies. Once I had even taken Aamir's autograph! Then all of a sudden, I was facing the camera with him! The way these two looked after me and saw me through my initial scenes is something I can never forget." -Rani Mukherji

"No, nothing of that sort. When I started my career I acted with a newcomer called Shadab Khan. I worked with Hrithik Roshan and Abhishek Bachchan when they were just newcomers. As for Shah Rukh and Aamir Khan they were my seniors as they had already acted in many other movies while I was a newcomer in front of them.
I think it is more about the comfort level that you have when you work with certain stars. It does not really matter if the hero has had hits or not. " Rani Mukherjee

RANI: “I am always comfortable. I’ve never believed in counting the box-office figures as an actress. Of course, commercial success matters a lot to me but I’ve moved beyond all that now. I want to do good films and good roles, I don’t want to be queen bee nor am I competing in the so-called rat race in Bollywood. I am not a rat, I am a creative person.”

rani on hrithik
Apparently, Hrithik Roshan felt his style of working matched yours...
We got along really well. Besides having a similar pattern of working, it is important to establish a comfort level between coactors. Mujhse Dosti Karoge was one big picnic. Since Hrithik and I were comfortable with each other, I would tell him whether a particular shot was well done or not.
And did he approach you for advice?
Yes. We are more friends than costars. I would tell him to redo a scene if I thought it was not good or there was something missing. Hrithik takes my suggestions seriously.

You have worked earlier with Saif in Hum Tum, and now in TRRP. How much has he evolved as an actor?
Saif is a brilliant actor undoubtedly. He is one of my favourites and I enjoy watching him on screen. Both of us agree that we have great onscreen chemistry that stems from our offscreen rapport. We trust each other as actors. While shooting we never try to outdo each other. The other day we were watching the preview of the film, and at the end, both of us agreed that we looked so hot together.
You were reckoned as a hot pair with Shah Rukh Khan, but later Abhishek Bachchan and you were hotting up the screens and now, audiences love your pairing with Saif. Who is the next romantic onscreen partner for Rani?
It is and has to be Saif all the way for me now. We really look hot together. Saif makes me look cool and I lend him an earthy touch. We really complement each other on screen. From Hum Tum to Ta Ra Rum Pum, we have gone a notch higher in all terms.
