"I saw a trailer of a film Rani was acting in. I don't remember the name of the film. She was playing a dulhan, that's all I remember. I recommended her to Karan for Kuch Kuch Hota Hai. I normally don't get into recommending heroines. That's the director's department. But I did suggest Rani to Karan. And I'm glad I did. She turned out just right for Kuch Kuch Hota Hai. Now she's acting opposite me in Chalte Chalte. When we had a problem with Aishwarya Rai, Rani was our first choice. Actually, Rani was always our first choice. But that time she didn't have dates. Then the film went to Ash. But then we were forced to replace Ash and Rani walked back into the project." SRK

Just some old quotes about Rani i found :-)
Shah Rukh Khan talks about Rani Mukerji
At the press conference of Chalte Chalte: "I treat her like a kid, when I feel she's not putting all her effort in a shot I give her a light slap, we have that kind of a relationship. We just took off from where we left in KKHH, this is my first full feature film with her and it’s been yet another wonderful experience, she hasn’t even taken any money for the film yet!’ :sloppy: :sloppy: And when they asked him about Rani acting as a wife in the movie, he said "It's a great performance, a different role to that of hers in Saathiya contrary to what people say. She's superb in Chalte Chalte and I can say now that whichever guy steals Rani's heart, is going to be very lucky." :sloppy: :sloppy: i totally agree whicheva man wins Rani's heart will be the luckiest man in the world
In the making of KKHH: "I’ve worked with a few newcomers recently (Mahima, Preity and Rani) and Rani is the best of the lot. She lights up the screen with her appearance, she’s very very beautiful and extremely talented, it was a pleasure working with her." :sloppy: :sloppy: Totally agree Shahru this girl rocks she always stands out :sloppy:
KARAN JOHAR TALKS ABOUT ONE OF HIS CLOSEST FRIENDS & FAVOURITE ACTRESSES, RANI MUKERJI: "Rani and I literally started our careers together so it is an emotional attachment. Her role ended pre-interval in Kuch Kuch Hota Hai. In Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham... she had only a cameo. Kabhi Alvida Naa Kehna is her first full-throttle mainstream role for me. After working with a very raw Rani in KKHH I had felt like a proud parent when watching Black. And then, when she faced the camera for me, I was amazed by her understanding of the medium. The new Rani is a thinking actor who dwells on the script and analyses her character in detail. She’s even got her looks department together and is stunning on screen. The rough edges are all gone...Today, my protege has perfected her art."
Bollywood choreographer , director and producer Farah Khan talks to Editor-in-Chief Shekhar Gupta on NDTV 24x7’s Walk the Talk programme. Excerpts:
• Farah, before we conclude, let me ask you a question. Rate the top five men and women, in Hindi movies.
Rate the top five? I would say number one, Shahrukh. For me. Number two, Mr Bachchan. Number three, Salman. Number four, Hrithik. And number five, Aamir.
• And women? Don’t start with Aishwarya now.
No. Number one, I would say Rani Mukherjee.Absoloutely Rani is no 1 at everything :sloppy:     Number two, Sushmita Sen. Number three, Aishwarya Rai.
Does it? Number four, Kajol, because she is out of circulation right now. And I would say, number five you know, they always complain I don’t like the women, which is not true. Number five — who do I like? Mallika Sherawat.

Madhuri Dixit on rani
And who among the contemporary actresses comes closest to her where acting, dancing and looks are concerned? "Don't compare them with me because every everyone has their own individual qualities. But yes, Rani is an excellent actress. I love the way she attacks a role. She is a complete actress and can carry off any role. Rani puts her heart and soul into her work, so much so that she doesn't look disinterested in a single frame."

here are some quotes about rani: Jay Sean: "My biggest Celeb crush? Rani Mukerjee! She's so sexy!" Rishi Rich: "My biggest Celeb crush? Rani Mukerjee, she's cute." ... "Rani Mukerjee is the woman I admire most in the world, after my mum." (DIRECTOR)Karan Johar: In the world after Black, Rani euphoria reigns supreme. I feel like a proud parent who has seen Rani grow and mature as an actor. Rani has starred in the biggest hits in the last two years. And for a star like her, recognition and critical acclaim will only increase. My god! When I remember how I'd scream instructions at her during 'Kuch Kuch Hota Hai', I wonder what I was doing! Rani has surpassed not just her contemporaries, but almost everything done by actresses in our cinema in the last 50 years. Anupam Kher: First of all, she is an extremely talented actress. Rani has proved herself with Black. Without a doubt, she is a major pull at the box office. Also, she is a warm and straight forward individual. She would never indulge in petty politics. The best part about her is that she keeps everyone smiling and wants the world to be happy. Salman Khan: I have worked with Rani in three films. She wasn’t taken seriously, initially. But now her talent is there for all to see. She is the only actress who has incredible comic timing. Even though she sported ugly glasses and had an awkward gait in Black, her performance was simply amazing. She doesn’t stoop to manipulation or backbiting. Now I can confidently say, she is here to stay. Priyanka Chopra: Rani is a fantastic person. We got along famously during the world tour, when we performed together. She is also not a party animal and very much a family person like me. Rani is a wonderful actor and I admire her even more after watching her performance in Black. (DIRECTOR)Kunal Kohli: Rani is definitely the number one heroine today. Her body language and histrionics were perfect, even in a film like Bichhoo. She’s probably the only heroine to have played a sexy widow with elan in Hum Tum. She’s also one of the few heroines to have bagged, both the best actress and supporting actress award in the same year. John Abraham: Rani is very beautiful and an attractive personality. She realizes her responsibility. She is my favorite actress and I completly admire her. Shahrukh Khan: She’s got a very interesting face; she’s got something as an actor. In other words, she is beautiful. She is one of my favorite actresses!! Govinda : No one can say for sure who is the number one actress, because talent abounds in Bollywood. But I would not hesitate to say that Rani is extremely talented and a great actress. But it would really be unfair to indulge in this number game. Preity Zinta: Rani won the award for best actress and I was happy for her. She is a wonderful actress and deserved to win .Rani & I work well together in films. We are not good good friends but we are friends. Rani is a great actress & she has a number of good films coming up.All I can say is that Rani is very friendly to me when I see her; in fact she's very sweet to me. Soha Ali Khan: I really think Rani Mukherjee is an excellent actress, it’s a pleasure to watch her on-screen. Koel Puri: Take Rani Mukerji. She never went to acting school but she is a phenomenal actor. The industry is her acting school.

Saif Ali Khan : "She is I think the best actress I have worked with, and there's something about her aura that really matches mine and makes us look great together onscreen. Working with such a great co-actor pushes you to act even better because you want to better then them."

So are you expecting your next link-up with Rani Mukerjee, your co-star in Baabul? I think this is the last thing I would ever want to happen. She is the most respected actress for me among all others because I have learnt a lot of things from her on and off the shoots.

Mehnaz Renowned classical and ghazal singer,
As for Indian movies, Mehnaz says Baghban is her favourite. She also recalls thoroughly enjoying Daag, starring Amitabh Bachchan, and Black. Of the latter she says “Rani Mukherjee has acted so well in it that you can’t call her an actor — she is an artiste in the true sense of the word. I feel she is in the same league as Dilip sahib and Amitabh. But, of late she has begun to do glamour-oriented roles — although there is no need for her to resort to it. People who don’t know how to act should do such roles, not someone of her calibre.”

Jayesh on photography and more....
He is one of the oldest and the most talented photographers known in Bollywood. Jayesh Sheth is one name that can be associated with some of the best pictures of the Bollywood stars ever shot. In an exclusive interview to IndiaFM, Jayesh Sheth talks about his career in Bollywood, the 10 best pictures he shot till date and his future plans in the area of filmmaking. Over to the ace lensman...
Top five photogenic faces in the industry according to you. Madhuri is very Photogenic, I would say. She is a perfect face for a portrait. Rani Mukherjee is very photogenic. Even if she comes without make up, she starts talking to you through the camera. She starts interacting with the lens instantly without any efforts. Then of course Late Smita Patil who was my ultimate motivation when we talk about photogenic faces. Rekhaji obviously is again very photogenic.
